School Daze

Since Scott has gone back to school, I have gone back to work...as a result, Landon has gone to school! Although no Mom ever wants to send her baby to school, I knew he would be okay...and that I would be okay. After countless hours of research and four different school tours, we finally settled on a Montessori school near TCU. We figured Scott could drop Landon off at school on his way to school!
We loved the curriculum taught (even for little ones Landon's age), the small, community feeling, the proximity to home and TCU, and Landon really likes it. Of course he took a few weeks to warm up to the idea, but his most recent report card had rave reviews! He has his own cubby, brings his lunch and even naps at school! His teacher said he has quite an appetite, listens to directions and sleeps for the full 2 hours of naptime. He has even learned to walk quietly in single file line on his way to and from the play ground ;)
This is my big boy in his class room after nap time. You can see his favorite blanket to the left and his sports-themed nap map in the back ground. Every time he sees the nap map, he says "BBBBAAAALLLLLL!"
Mommy coming to pick him up in the afternoon.
We're so proud of our boy and how quickly he has adapted to a new routine. So far, the exposure to new things and new people has been great for him! And yes, the exposure to more germs has already given us two colds....but the benefits definitely outweigh the risks!

  1. Awesome!!! We are just now looking into Montessori schools. There are only 2 spots left for the fall of 2012 right now in the Tucson school. Let me know what you think....what are the prices? I am going to start my research on them NOW:))
