Happy Birthday Will

Landon's cousin Will celebrated his 2nd Birthday yesterday with pizza, cupcakes and family! It was a great opportunity to visit with cousins. Here Landon and Connor are eating pizza together.
And here the Birthday boy Will joins in the pizza eating.
Happy Birthday time for Will! Will's Mommy did cupcakes instead of cake which was perfect for the kiddos! They thoroughly enjoyed them...or maybe it was the super cute animal figurines on top :)
All the cousins singing to Will.
They're not all smiling or looking at the camera, but the fact that they're all sitting together is definitely an accomplishment! Landon Havard, Connor Foust, Zach Foust, Will Russell and Dane Russell. Until the next Birthday....

Fast Food vs. Healthy Eating

After a long morning of running errands and shopping, Scott and I knew we'd barely get home in time to make lunch before having to put Landon down for a nap. So, we decided to stop by Burger King to grab hamburgers. We got home and laid out our spread....
....but Landon wanted nothing to do with a hamburger or fries. Instead he asked for green peppers with dip (ranch)! So funny, when does a kid pass up fast food for fruit and veggies! Although it's not traditional, I'm glad he has a palate for healthy eating :)

Pamcakes

Lately we've been obsessed with pamcakes (pancakes). We have them for breakfast several times per week.....and shush, don't tell, but sometimes we have them for dinner too:)
To let Landon feel involved, I have been allowing him to put sprinkles on his pancakes. After I pour the batter on the griddle, I hold him up and let him shake the sprinkles on the dough side so they bake in the pancake.
This particular morning, I forgot to let him shake his sprinkles. So of course when I set the plate down in front of him he asked "Where the sprinkles Mama?"
So I let him shake the sprinkles on his plate to dip instead....this is what we ended up with...an ENORMOUS pile of sprinkles! He was very proud of himself and dipped every bit in that huge pile!

Too cute!

The other day I was making dinner, so I told Landon to go play. After about 5 minutes I peeked out of the kitchen to take a look.....I found him sitting on the couch with his blanket, reading a book. What a good boy!

Botanic Gardens

Yesterday was a beautiful Fall day, so Landon I and decided to adventure outdoors. We thought the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens would be an excellent place to spend the afternoon.
The weather was a lovely 70 degrees, with a cool breeze. Our first stop was the turtle pond.
Unfortunately, Landon's happiness was shattered when he dropped his car into the pond.
The face above is the aftermath of realizing it was gone. He kept repeating over and over, "it's gone." Poor guy.
The turtles briefly took his mind off the lost car.
After walking through the flowers, we stopped for a snack of gold fish.
Although the season is changing, there were still tons of flowers in bloom...enough to bring out 3 brides, 5 quinceanera's, and 7 family photo shoots! It seemed like everyone was out taking pictures yesterday!
Although we missed Daddy since he was at school studying, we still had a fun day :)

Happy Halloween!

We were invited over to a friend's house for a kids Halloween party last night. It was the perfect house because they had a huge backyard with a swing set and lots of room for the kids to run around.
Although my girl friend had plenty of cute Halloween games for the kids to play, of course all Landon wanted were trucks and tractors!
After games and dinner, all the kids got ready for a trick-or-treat parade around the neighborhood...
....Initially it seemed like Landon was going to make it....
....but no such luck. It was already 7:45pm (bedtime is 8:00pm) and Landon was asking to go to bed. I guess I can't ignore that cue! We had already trick-or-treated at the Trunk-or-Treat party at church, so it was okay that we didn't make it out last night. Not to mention, I don't think Landon really "gets" the whole Halloween thing yet. Maybe next year :) It was a great party though!
