Pedernales Falls State Park

Texas has so many awesome state parks, we have decided to visit as many local ones as we can. Not only is it an inexpensive form of entertainment, this is the perfect time of year to be exploring the Texas outdoors - temperatures have been in the mid 60's!
Yesterday we experienced Pedernales Falls. The drive wasn't too long and Landon behaved very well in the car. We took the scenic route to take in as much Texas Hill Country as possible - one of our absolute favorite landscapes!
Being the frugal people we are (translated - we now live on one income instead of two), we packed sandwiches, chips and drinks to eat on the trail. Left over turkey sandwiches of course!
The Pedernales River had some water in it thanks to the rains this season, although it is lower than usual.
Landon slept the entire time in his Baby Bjorn!
We caught the sunset on our way out of the park, absolutely gorgeous. It cast a beautiful golden glow on the river as it sank behind the hills.
Our happy little family!

Happy Thanksgiving

This year we had a small Thanksgiving celebration. We usually go Boerne to be with Scott's family, however, this year we were quarantined to the house because Landon can't be around that many people. So, we had our own celebration at home, our first Thanksgiving dinner as a new family. My brother Steve joined us. He is living in Denton, just north of Dallas, while going to school to earn his Doctorate in Guitar.
Although Landon didn't get to eat turkey, he still had a good day!

This is how the rest of us looked after dinner!

Our big boy!

We are extremely excited because.....Landon is growing out of his newborn clothes and is moving up to the 3 month sizes! I know this might not seem like much to others, but for us it's a big deal! Although he is technically 5 months old, he did make his grand entrance into the world a little early and still has some catching up to do.
Not only has he been growing physically, he has definitely been growing socially. His personality is awesome. If you look at him and smile, he will give you a huge smile in return. I love it!
He is still working on holding his head up....getting so close!

Some things he still doesn't care for, like the Bumbo. Guess we'll have to put this one back in the closet and try again later.

5 Years

5 years ago today Scott and I were exchanging vows in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico! We had so much fun that week-
got married and had a great vacation with family!
We started the wedding festivities on a Sunset Cruise that sailed by Cabo's famous arch.

The culmination of the week was the ceremony itself where we

became Mr. and Mrs.

The one bummer....only getting to wear the dress once!

I can't stop.....

....posting pictures of Landon smiling! Scott caught these today after Landon had gotten up from his nap.

Getting close

Landon has really impressed us with his development. Some things he can do like a 4 month old (his true age) - like rolling over! But, some things he does like a 1 month old (gestational age) - like holding his head up. Although, he is getting so close to doing it. He can balance for a few moments, but then will start bobbing from side to side.

By the way, how do ya like that mohawk!

I couldn't help it.....

....I had to post this. I am absolutely loving that Landon is smiling now! I am having so much fun acting silly for him and trying to capture those 100 watt smiles on film! I thought this was a pretty good one.

Gottlieb genes

From the day Landon was born, the majority of people thought he looked like Scott. I personally thought he looked like me, or at least like my baby pictures. I have had a few people tell me they think Landon looks like Steve, my brother. I think they might have been right!
What do you think?

Smiling

We are so excited.....Landon is finally flexing his facial muscles and giving us smiles! He is still slow going and pretty inconsistent, but when he flashes one it's worth the work it took to get it.
