Big Boy Status!

Landon has turned into such a Big Boy recently!  He turned 3, he became fully potty trained - I'm talking underwear even at nap and night time - and he moved up to the "big kid" class at school!
For being so awesome, we decided to reward him with some fun and games at Chuck E Cheese!
Probably not the most sanitary place to hang out, but hey, at least it's air conditioned since it's 108 degrees outside!
Scott tried really hard to get Phoebe to look at the camera, but she was mesmerized by a mechanical car Landon was riding in :)
He thought the maze on the ceiling was pretty cool...
...but not as cool as the cars!  (of course)
He did like the simulation rides with Daddy.
 More cars.
About half way through our adventure, Phoebe was over it.  She got a nice cat nap.
Shooting hoops with Dad.
It was a great afternoon as a family, celebrating Landon's big boy awesomeness and beating the heat!

My bad...

Okay, my bad.  I was supposed to post pictures of Landon's Birthday trampoline and I never did.  So, better late than never!
This will not be its permanent home, but for now it works.  When it's on the patio, it stays fairly shaded so Landon won't burn his little piggies in the 108 degree sun!

Happy Birthday big boy!!

Happy Birthday Landon!

Happy Birthday Landon!  Our smart, strong, healthy boy is now 3 years old!   Technically his birthday is tomorrow, but Scott was off today and will be at school until late tomorrow....so we decided to celebrate today.
From such humble beginnings, Landon has grown into an incredible little man.  Stubborn as all get out, but so loving, always willing to give mamma some love; a great big brother, always telling Phoebe he'll protect her; smart as a whip, generous and kind.
He has recently become interested in dinosaurs...
...so Grammie and Grampy got him a dinosaur book with dinosaurs figurines.
I know he's not smiling in any of these pictures, like pulling teeth to get him to smile and look at the camera, but he really was having a good time.
We got him a tunnel and tent...
....and also a trampoline!  More pictures to come tomorrow...

Food Park

I was excited to find out Fort Worth has a Food Park and had to check it out.  We headed out for lunch on a lazy Saturday afternoon.
We thought we had wrong directions because GPS was leading us down a back alley behind several industrial type buildings....but then, there it was, tucked in an alley under a canopy of trees.  There were 6 trucks, all offering different foods and diverse menus.
Everything we ate was very good.  I had an incredible shredded BBQ beef quesadilla.  Here is Landon being a very patient boy waiting for his food.
My two handsome boys making silly faces at each other. Great family day!

Getting big

Landon is such a big boy these days...almost 3 in fact!  He sees Scott going to school every day and "doing work" and "studying," so he wanted to "do work" and "study" too!  I found a preschool workbook at Costco and we've been working in it.  He can now hold a marker correctly and trace letters and shapes!!  Pretty impressive for an almost 3 year old!
Phoebe has been so blessed to have received a couple handmade quilts from dear friends lately.  I treasure these kinds of gifts, knowing that they were made with love, and will keep them forever.  I'm sure Phoebe will have the same love for them as well.
I had to throw this in because she looks so stinkin' cute in her first pair of skinny jeans.  Not having lost all the baby weight yet, I can't wear them, but my baby sure can rock them!!
Landon was so sweet the other morning before school, he was watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and wanted Phoebe to watch with him.  I hope it's the first of many things they'll do together.  Love them!
