Pedernales Falls State Park

Texas has so many awesome state parks, we have decided to visit as many local ones as we can. Not only is it an inexpensive form of entertainment, this is the perfect time of year to be exploring the Texas outdoors - temperatures have been in the mid 60's!
Yesterday we experienced Pedernales Falls. The drive wasn't too long and Landon behaved very well in the car. We took the scenic route to take in as much Texas Hill Country as possible - one of our absolute favorite landscapes!
Being the frugal people we are (translated - we now live on one income instead of two), we packed sandwiches, chips and drinks to eat on the trail. Left over turkey sandwiches of course!
The Pedernales River had some water in it thanks to the rains this season, although it is lower than usual.
Landon slept the entire time in his Baby Bjorn!
We caught the sunset on our way out of the park, absolutely gorgeous. It cast a beautiful golden glow on the river as it sank behind the hills.
Our happy little family!
