2 months

Phoebe is already 2 months old!  She has been a great baby and a wonderful addition to our family.  She is for the most part a pleasant, happy baby....
...unless I'm trying to get her to pose for a "photo shoot" :)
She is getting so big and strong; holding her head up for short periods.  At her 2 month doctor visit, she weighed 11 lbs and measured 23.5 inches!
We had to include a little Landon lovin' in the post, since so many have been about Phoebe lately :)
He's been a great big brother and tells Phoebe very often that he loves her...that makes me a happy mama!

Catch up

Okay, it's time to play catch up!
We all know Landon is in LOVE with anything that has wheels and has been since he arrived in this world.  We currently have lots of construction around town and I thought it was the perfect opportunity for us to check out some bulldozers.
One evening, we found a spot off the road where workers had parked several bulldozers and dump trucks.  We hopped the fence (sssshhhh) and went discovering.  Landon was in heaven!  Scott helped him climb up a few dozers, which he thought was the "coolest."
Phoebe was less impressed with the bulldozers, so we went walking instead.  By the way, I love that she's old enough for the Bjorn now!  It's such a fun to have her close to me and be hands free!
This is my favorite spot in her room to take pictures.  Every day after we take a bath and get dressed, I sit her in the chair and do a "photo shoot."  She has too many cute outfits not to take pictures!
Daddy finished his semester and has a week off, so we are thoroughly enjoying him being around.  He and Phoebe are especially close :)
Although, Daddy and Landon are buddies as well.
Landon LOVES helping Daddy any time there are tools involved.  Before they started working on this 4-wheeler, Landon walked inside with Scott toward the garage and informed me "we're going to get tools to work on the free-wheeler, see ya later momma." (for some reason he calls it a 3-wheeler, instead of a 4-wheeler).
Landon has been so patient with me lately, understanding that I'm often in need of a nap in the afternoons, and usually joining me.
I've been back to work for a month now, and although I'd rather not be working I'm very grateful that I have a job that allows me to work from home.  This way I still get to be at home with Phoebe and contribute to our family.
If you haven't already noticed, Phoebe has the coolest hair ever!  This day we decided to rock the pompadour!  Watch out Elvis!
We were lucky enough to have some family over last weekend to celebrate Phoebe's arrival into our family.  I was worried about the weather, but it turned out to be pretty nice outside. The kids spent the whole morning outside playing in the sandbox, pushing each other in the wagon, sliding down the slide and catching frogs.  Landon is holding a frog here.  We have an entire colony of baby frogs in our yard and the kids thought it was the greatest thing ever to catch them!
Unfortunately we didn't get all the cousins, but here are some of them together.  Of course it was impossible to get them all smiling and looking at the camera at the same time...I'll take it though!
We call ourselves "The Married-In's"  we're not the true cousins, just the ones they married :)

Smiles!

Excuse the poor cell phone quality pictures...but at least we have real evidence that Phoebe smiles!!  Yay Phoebe

Although we didn't make it to church on Easter Sunday (I wasn't quite up to the challenge yet), we did have a great holiday. We got a couple cute pictures of Phoebe and Landon where they're almost looking at the camera :)
It's so funny how different they look! Landon's fair complexion totally resembles Scott and Phoebe's olive skin and dark hair totally take after my Italian side.
How GQ :)
We were invited to a friend's ranch to celebrate Easter with a fabulous lunch and egg hunt. The only things Landon saw on the food table were cupcakes and chips. Splurging a couple times a year never hurt anyone, right?
The grounds of the Ranch are beautiful. We took advantage of the scenery to get a family photo.
Daddy helped Landon find eggs that were spread across the huge expanse of a front yard at the Ranch.
You can almost see here how huge the yard is and how spread out the eggs were. Kids were scrambling all over the place to fill their baskets!
Check out my loot! Landon loved his "race car bucket!"
What a great Easter!

Blue Bonnets

Spring + Texas = Pictures in the Blue Bonnets!
It was a very warm and sunny day, so most of the pictures captured squinty eyes...but we still got some good shots.
It's still crazy to think we're a family of four now!
We're so very blessed!

The Story

I had just had a doctors appointment the day before, where I was informed I was no more dilated or effaced than the week before...boy was I disappointed! I was SO ready to have this baby! After I decided to stop feeling sorry for myself and accept that she was going to come when she was ready....my water broke :) I made it to the hospital at 6am....
....She was born by 1:22pm that day! All in all, the whole experience was great. I had an awesome L&D nurse who got my epidural ordered very early on (YAY!), I progressed very quickly and painlessly and she was delivered before Landon even got out of school that afternoon!
The pushing part was harder than I thought it would be, but I guess anything is harder than pushing out a 2 pound baby...I didn't have much to compare it to :) But look at this face - TOTALLY worth it!
Landon is the best big brother! He was so gentle and loving, wanting to give sister a hug and a kiss.
Our happy family - Mommy, Daddy, son and daughter. Doesn't get much better :)
We had been talking to Landon a lot about how he will teach Phoebe things, he suggested how to use a flash light and pliers, how to play cars and tractors (so cute!)
We left the hospital after 24 hours, thank goodness! Who can get sleep with people coming in your room 24/7 and poking and prodding you! In addition, we were eager to get home to Landon and maintain his routine.
The first thing he asked was to hold his sister. He put his arms around her and patted her, my heart melted! Whenever she cries now he says, "Don't cry Phoebe, it's okay." He is going to be the best big brother!
I admit, it's pretty fun having a girl! I love the bows and pink outfits :)
Since we can't give real baths yet, Phoebe got a sponge bath yesterday. She has TONS of hair but after it was washed, it seemed to have doubled! I love it!
Our pretty princess having sweet dreams. We are so grateful to have had a healthy pregnancy, healthy and safe delivery and to bring home a healthy baby girl. What a blessing we've been given!
