Landon Sayings..

Landon has always had a very large personality, but lately it's become pretty hilarious. Scott got new shoes for his birthday; Landon had to try them on. Once he got the shoes on and started walking around the living room he said, "I'm so handsome, just like Dada."
The other day he was playing with his tractors and I said, "Come over here so I can play tractors with you." He said, "Momma it's not a tractor, it's a backhoe!" Sorry, I stand corrected!
We were playing together in his room and I said, "Are you Momma's homie?" He said, "No, I'm Dada's homie." That's the second time Momma got told! ;)

Big Boy Room

Since the arrival of baby girl is quickly approaching, we thought it best to transition Landon over to his "Big Boy" room. The theme: Cowboys! Here is Landon wearing his cowboy hat, soaking up the cowboy vibe :)
Here is a shot of the other side of the room: complete with is big boy bed, cowboy hat, gun and stetson and stars garland.
A close up of his bed....$10 dollar garage sale find! Love the "Eat, Sleep, Ride" sign we found in Grandbury, the cowboy boot sheet that Grammy made and jean quilt Memaw made...all complete the cowboy theme.
The awesome denim curtains that Grammy made, with valence and tie backs.
Here are the beautiful shelves that Daddy built and painted. Another favorite find...revolver book ends! On sale at Hobby Lobby!
My absolute favorite...vintage cowboy pillow case! Landon LOVES his "big boy" room and sleeping in his "big boy" bed. I was worried that the transition into his room would be hard, since he loved sleeping in his crib, but he took to it like a champ! He sleeps through the night in his bed and has never once ventured out until the morning. We're so proud of our little cowboy!

First Day Back to School

Landon had two weeks off of school for the Christmas holiday. He enjoyed his time at home, visiting with all the family in town. Although, I think he was eager to get back to school to play with his friends.
Here he is this morning with his new lunch box! Ready for a fun day of learning and playing!

Getting Big!

I haven't posted any pictures of me or my belly, so I thought it was finally time. I am officially 27 weeks (exactly the time I had Landon 2 1/2 years ago). Although I thought I would be very anxious at this point, I am actually feeling very good.
I am considered a high risk pregnancy this time, so my doctors have been monitoring me very closely. We've been taking all the necessary precautions - frequent visits and ultra sounds, progesterone shots and tests to predict early labor, in addition to taking it much easier this time around - no heavy lifting, no extraneous physical activity, and staying close to home...just in case. Through lots of prayer and positive thinking, I know this beautiful baby girl will be born healthy and at term!

Celebrating the Holiday

My little man looks so grown up! I can't believe it. Despite all the scratches he got on his face the evening before, he still looks so handsome in his new Christmas outfit.
Handsome....and a little mischievous :)
We had to bribe him with gummies to sit still for pictures!
Uncle Steve and Landon posed with Felicia and Rocco in their Christmas collars.
Since Landon loves playing guitar with Daddy, Grammy thought he needed a guitar of his own! He loved it and was so excited to play with Daddy and Uncle Steve.
He was also obsessed with his new garbage truck.
Landon and Daddy putting together his new race car track.
Landon and Grampy playing with some new race cars.
Landon getting guitar lessons from Daddy.
Uncle Steve, Landon and Uncle Brian.
Getting more guitar lessons from Uncle Steve. What a wonderful holiday season spent with family!

This and That

Better late than never! Scott put up our Christmas lights the other day and Landon HAD to help. Anything Daddy's doing, he has to do....
....or maybe he just wanted to climb the ladder :)
Since he's out of school for 2 weeks, we thought it would be a great time to work on potty training. We've already been "working" on it, but not too consistently. Now is the time to hit it hard! This does mean that we change clothes a lot during the day....
....because these big boy underwear seem to wet fairly easily :) He has gone in the potty several times, but I am getting the impression this is going to be a battle of wills.
Although he does look pretty cute in these big boy underwear!

Art Studio

Landon was invited to the birthday party of a girl in his class. The party was held at a Children's Art Studio in Fort Worth...such a brilliant idea for a kid's party! They had little smocks for the kids to wear to keep their clothes clean, even though the paint was washable...
...A bead station with lanyards to make necklaces (although Landon just preferred to run his fingers through piles of beads, rather than string them on a necklace :)...
...Stickers, markers and glue for a make-your-own art project...
...And a make-your-own crown station. I was really impressed that he was so into his crown and wanted to wear it after he finished decorating it!
The signature art project of the morning was painting their own treasure box. He did a great job! And, we got to take all our art projects home with us.
The Art Studio had a special room for the party itself. There were tons of fun, yummy snacks, chicken nuggets and cupcakes!
It was a great party and Landon had a fabulous time. Happy Birthday Addison, thanks for having us!
