Lovin my birthday present...

Landon got a wagon from Grandma and Grandpa for his birthday.
It did require a little assembling from Grandpa.
(Bet you thought those days were over, huh Dad? ;) Lately, we've been taking lots of walks to the mailbox to get the mail.
Thanks Grandpa!
Even taking walks to the pool with my friends!

Bath Time

Since we've been in the pool every day, sometimes twice a day.....
It is much easier to take a quick bath in the sink! Landon loves to stare at himself in the mirror ;)
We just need to have lots of towels on standby!

Hanging at home

Landon loves to read.... ...and play Superman!

River Time

We recently met up with some friends at Blue Hole in Wimberley. It was our first time there, I can't believe we haven't been there yet! It was beautiful!
The entire stretch of river front was covered in green grass and huge oak and cypress trees. The trees cast wonderful, relieving shade against the powerful Texas sun!
We cooled off by taking dips in the Blanco River.
Landon thought the water was a little chilly, but enjoyed his floaty.

Congrats Landon

Landon has been in swim lessons twice a week for the whole month of June and has had a blast! Of course there was some trepidation the first few classes, but by the last one he was a pro!
He was jumping off the sides, swimming on his tummy and back and kicking away like Michael Phelps! He still wasn't too fond of going under water, but would get the bottom half of his face wet.
At the end of the last class, each student was presented with a Graduation Certificate by the teacher. (She promised to get us another one where is name is spelled right! ;)
Had to get a group picture of all his classmates!

Happy Birthday Landon!!

I can't believe it....Landon is 1 year old! It's true what everyone says, it goes by so fast! It feels like yesterday he was born, our 2 pound 4 oz. miracle baby. Now he's 18 pounds and a ball of energy! We celebrated the special occasion with a birthday party at a local park. The park was complete with jungle gym, pool, swings, and basketball court-plenty for all the kids to do. Unfortunately the day was pretty warm, so we cooled off with a water balloon toss.
I was pretty surprised at Landon's reaction when it was time for cake. He puts EVERYTHING in his mouth these days. I know it's the way kids his age explore the world. Go figure, the one thing we want to see him put in his mouth, he doesn't! It's not that he didn't like he, he ate the pieces I fed him. But, he didn't dive in.
He was very cautious at first... ....and then realized that frosting was the best kind of finger paint!
Pretty soon, he was covered...
...from head to toe!
I know this is horrible, but I put him in the pool to wash off! It was the quickest, easiest way and it worked like a charm.
I don't think he quite understood the whole present thing. Instead I let each child open the gift they brought for Landon. It was hilarious watching them get so excited describing the gift and why they chose it. It think the kids really enjoyed it.
The grand finale of the afternoon is when the fire truck came to the party with lights flashing and sirens blaring! You should have seen the looks on the kids faces-priceless! They all ran over and climbed in. Overall, the day was wonderful and we truly enjoyed spending it with friends and family that supported and loved us this past year. This is just the beginning, we have so many more adventures to experience!

Swim Lessons

Landon loves being in the tub, so I had a feeling he would like the pool....I was right! He has his first swim lesson last week and had a great time. The Kyle Community Pool is right down the road and offers a parent/toddler class. It is twice a week for 30 minutes throughout the month of June.
The water was cold so I was afraid he wasn't going to like it, but he jumped right in and started splashing. We practicing kicking on our stomachs and backs, even going under water! Landon was the only kid who didn't cry when we went under! Such a strong, brave boy!
After the lesson, the instructor put a bunch of toys in the water for the kids to play with, rings and rubber duckies. She wanted us to get the kids to associate having fun with being in the water. We were so happy Daddy could come to our first lesson....we needed someone to take pictures and video ;)
