More catch up

We had a great 4th of July.  The afternoon and evening was spent at a celebration in Weatherford, a small town West of us.  They had a great setup - lots of music, games, entertainment, and food.  Phoebe discovered Kettle Corn for the first time - it was love at first bite.

They had a heavy military presence at the event, which I loved.  We took Landon up to most of them men and women and thanked them for their service. 

The morning of the 4th, we attended a parade near his school.  One of his friends from school was there, so we camped out near them for the parade. 

 A long line of cars, new and old, cruised by throwing out candy to the eager kids lining the street.  Definitely not one to be left out, Phoebe made sure she got her hands on just as many goodies as big brother. 

She shared some with Daddy too.

Obviously not in chronological order here....Landon had been talking about wanting a Ford Raptor for some time.  Any kind of "jacked up truck" is his favorite.  We already have a power wheel 4-wheeler for Landon, but Scott really wanted to get him a Raptor for his birthday.  These suckers get expensive, so Scott scoured Craig's List until he found one at a good price, then totally refinished it!  It came out amazing!  It used to be blue, with holes in both bumpers and without any stickers.  This was definitely a "Pimp my Ride" worthy overhaul!

Unfortunately this "pimp ride" is what gave Pheebs her first back eye!  She was so eager to go for a ride in Landon's new "jacked up truck," that she forgot how crazy a driver big brother can be.  Within the first two minutes, he cut a corner too tightly throwing her face first into the dashboard.  Needless to say, she'll wait until he's 18 before driving with him again!

Scott and I took him to Legoland for a special birthday outing.

And celebrated with his class at school - McQueen plates and goodie bags, with Spiderman cupcakes.  Hero identity crisis.  ;)
