Trip to Houston

 We traveled to Houston for Thanksgiving to celebrate the holiday with Scott's cousin and his family.  His wife's two sisters, their husbands and kids were also there...that's right - 8 adults and 10 kids!  It was one chaotic, crazy, fun, memorable weekend!  On Friday we traveled to a wild animal park, the kind where you drive through the park and see the animals up close.

 Here are 7 of the 10 kiddos hamming it up for the camera.

 Instead of driving your own car through the park, a truck pulling a trailer drives everyone through together.  I liked this because the driver explained interesting facts about each of the animals as we passed through.  Landon wanted to sit up front in the truck, as opposed to the trailer, so Phoebe and I joined them.

 They gave each of us 3 or 4 buckets of food to feed the animals as we drove through.  After Landon "gave away" the first bucket of food, Daddy helped him hold onto the next bucket.

 There were several ostriches on the property who were NOT shy about coming right up to the truck/trailer to get food.  Those suckers are mean!  Here's one having a stare-down with Scott.

 Unfortunately the giraffes were fenced in, so we didn't get to feed them.  They were still beautiful to look at.

 Phoebe was pretty chill for the ride and content just to watch the passing scenery. 

However, I thought she was going to make a break for it a few times! (I love the chub line between her hand and arm!)

 One of the highlights of my weekend was celebrating the awesome family tradition they have of letting the kids open their first present on the evening of Thanksgiving.

All of the kids got matching Christmas jammies to wear for the next month.  What a great tradition!  I'm totally carrying this on (copying:) in our family from now on!
